Industry: British Airways to Retire All B747s With Immediate Effect Due to Covid19

Writer: Client Site AdministratorClient Site Administrator

"Good night your majesty, it was a pleasure to serve with you"

Sadly, it's true.

BA announced yesterday that they will be bringing forward the retirement date of the iconic Queen of The Skies - The Boeing 747.

This is earlier than planned due to the reduction in long haul travel routes, thus rendering the older aircraft redundant as they were being readily replaced by the B777 & and A350 aircraft types over the last few years.

With immediate effect there will be no more commercial flights operated by BA with any of the B747 aircraft type.

We are putting together a collage so that we can always reflect on this epic aircraft.

Please feed free to send us your BA B747 pics and we will dutifully add them to this collection for us all to treasure.

A sad announcement and the closing of a major chapter in aviation history, lets see what the future holds for aviation post Covid19 and post the Queen.

Please stay safe, until we meet again.
