Event: Government of Senegal Ends State of Emergency, Announces Resumption of International Commercial Flights
On June 29, the Government of Senegal announced an end to the COVID-19 related State of Emergency effective 11:00p.m. local time on June 30.
Despite the end of the State of Emergency in Senegal, some leisure facilities will remain closed indefinitely due to social distancing measures, and markets will remain closed once per week for cleaning. Use of facial coverings remains mandatory in public and private offices, public places and markets, and on public transportation. Government of Senegal administrative business hours will return to 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
International commercial flights will resume July 15. Land and sea borders remain closed until further notice.
In the interim, Delta Airlines has announced additional repatriation flights from Dakar (DSS) to New York (JFK), including flights on July 3, July 10, and July 17. Dates and times are subject to change. These are special commercial repatriation flights for U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents. Tickets are available directly from Delta Airlines and generally available 7-10 days prior to each flight. All interested passengers must purchase tickets for these flights from Delta Airlines. You do not need to submit your information to the U.S. Embassy to purchase tickets.
These flights will operate with limited seating capacity in line with Delta Airline’s social distancing policy.
