Starting in January 2024, Adrian Neuhauser will take over as CEO of the Abra Group, maintaining a role as Executive Vice-Chairman of Avianca; Frederico Pedreira will take over as CEO and President of the airline.
From January 2024, Adrian Neuhauser will be the new CEO of the Abra Group, and will continue to accompany the growth of Avianca as Executive Vice-Chairman of its board of directors. In turn, Frederico Pedreira will assume the leadership of the airline as CEO and President.
The announced changes will allow the Abra Group's expansion strategy to continue to be aligned with the execution of Avianca's business plan in Latin America.
Since arriving at Avianca in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer, Neuhauser led the company's restructuring; Then, in 2021 he was named CEO and President; he was also the one who spearheaded the successful Chapter 11 entry and exit process; the reactivation of the post-pandemic operation in more than 26 countries; the transformation of the airline's business model to be a more efficient, sustainable and competitive company and, more recently, the renewal of the brand.
For his part, Pedreira arrived at Avianca in 2021 as Chief Operating Officer and in his role he managed, together with his team, to turn around the airline's operational indicators, turning it into a benchmark for operational excellence. He was also a fundamental piece for the transition to Avianca's new business model.
Neuhauser stated: “I am proud of what our team has achieved at Avianca. I fully trust Fred and his leadership in executing Avianca's next steps. I hope to continue working with him, and with the entire team, for many more years.”
For his part, Pedreira said: "Thank you for the trust, I feel honored and privileged to be able to team up with the more than 13,000 people who are part of our Avianca."
