The airline will operate four flights a week using A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers each, providing a total of 1,200 available seats per week.

We arrived in Canada just over two years ago with our operation to Toronto, and today we are delighted to announce Avianca's upcoming arrival in Montréal at the end of March as the second destination in the country,” said Rolando Damas, director of sales for avianca in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Currently, more than 120,000 Colombians live in Canada, and over 20,000 Canadian residents visit Colombia each year. Undoubtedly, this new route will facilitate greater connections for tourists, students, and businesses between the two countries.

Canadians are drawn to explore Colombia's year-round tropical climate, especially our culture, and abundant natural wealth, and this is why we celebrate flourishing air connectivity between Canada and Colombia, which provides travelers with the opportunity to explore the magic of both nations. With this new Avianca flight, we want travelers from Montreal to see Colombia as a trendy destination with unparalleled beauty, and meaningful travel experiences that leave both tourists and locals touched forever, said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, the promotion agency of Colombia.

On the other hand, Stéphane Lapierre, Vice President, Airport Operations and Air Services Development, ADM said:

ADM Aéroports de Montréal is delighted to welcome the world’s second oldest airline to YUL for the first time. With the addition of avianca to the list of airlines operating at YUL, our passengers will have the opportunity to board a flight that will take them directly to Bogotá, offering them additional access to South and Central America. For an international airport like ours, this is great news, especially as this route will offer arrivals and departures at less busy times of the day, which fits perfectly with one of our recent strategies for developing our air services. It’s a great announcement to get 2024 off to a good start.
